This is my three year old sister Aalayah, and this is as still as you will ever find Aalayah in her life. When she's not romping around in the grass, chasing wild bunny rabbits, or challenging you to a race she's got her head in a book or in front of the TV. Aalayah isn't really interested in Disney on the screen yet, but she does love their picture books.
Last month while I was home on Fall Break, Aalayah decided to launch all two feet of herself off of the couch, and onto my upright suitcase. When I told her that she was probably going to fall and break her neck she replied, "It's okay, princesses don't get hurt." And Aalayah Jenae, play-doh connoisseur and professor drummer for 8:30 am wake up calls, is a princess. Believing you're a princess is not at all a bad thing, I still think I am, it is believing that princesses are invulnerable, always gets the guy, and saves the day that is dangerous. And that is what TV, picture books, fairytales, and Disney has taught us.
